Season by season

Winter (October–March) — the sweet spot

This is when Kota is at its best. Expect daytime highs in the mid-20s to low-30s and cool mornings that occassionally dip near 10°C in December and January. Carry a light jacket for early starts and evenings, but daytime is t-shirt weather. Every outdoor sight — the Chambal Riverfront, Seven Wonders Park, the City Palace — is a joy right now.

Summer (April–June) — hot and bold

Temperatures climb fast, regularly touching 42–45°C in May. It's dry heat, which is a little more bearable than humid heat, but you'll still want to be indoors at mid-day. If you visit now, go out at dawn, rest through the afternoon, and come back out after 5pm. Keep an eye on our heat advisories.

Monsoon (July–September) — green and dramatic

The rains transform the landscape. The Chambal swells, Gaipernath waterfall roars back to life and the whole Hadoti region turns emerald. Showers are usually short and sharp rather than all-day drizzle. It's a brilliant time for photography — just pack a rain cover and sturdy shoes.
